So, Monday's story ended happily with me calling Agata, asking her to pull up tfl, and telling me what bus I could grab from East Dulwich to Waterloo. I got on the bus, asked the driver if they were taking rail tickets since the trains weren't moving. I got a non-committal answer… Then, I tried to pay for fare and the driver bitched about not having change for a tenner. So, I didn't pay a fare to for the bus at all.

The rest of the week was interesting…. I went in to work every day because I just don't like working from home by myself. (Ray had to go back to Israel YET AGAIN.)

Tuesday sucked because various things blew up as I was making my way into work. I figured that, since I was going into work every day this week, I should go in later so, pay the cheap fare. I got called while I was on the train, and was trying to figure out what was going on and ended up dialing into a conf call as I got in the door. It was ugly. So, I decided NOT to try to come in later, but instead, just leave earlier. (Yeah, that always works.)

Wednesday, I went to the gym with Agata and a guy from the office who is a body builder and personal trainer for the gym. I got thoroughly put through the wringer. The muscles over my ribcage, and my neck STILL hurt massively, after 3 days. The bad part is that I didn't get done with work until 19h, so we didn't get to the gym until 20h, so it was after 23h when I got home.

Then, Thursday, I went out drinking with the dev guys… Really, I wasn't planning on going because I don't work for the manager who is leaving, though he used to be my second line manager back when I was in RTP. Then, Steph came around asking if folks were going, and I decided that it might be kind of cool to actually be social for a change, and it was free beer. It started out kind of uncomfortable, but it got better as the night went on. When I told Ray about it, I'd made the comment that I pretty much just had Stella for dinner that night, and he proceeded to make fun of my English heritage. I am really glad I went, because it made me realize that I actually work with some interesting people.

Then, yesterday was another day of an overwhelming load of crap. I really need to be working right now, but I just can't face it right now… Instead, I am watching music videos, eating a minced beef pie, and typing this.

Interesting observation about music videos here: They censor the crap out of everything, and it gets to the point that it is really stupid. Case in point: Weezer's song Hashpipe. It's the title of the song, and it is displayed as the song starts and ends, yet they bleep out the word "hash" during the chorus of the song. And the video for Jesus of Suburbia is pointless after all the booze, cigarettes, assorted drugs, offensive tats, underwear and everything else is blurred out. It's all a bit silly. Yet, I have just flipped past another station which is showing a guy smoking a joint, with lyrics, that say something like, "yeah, I know where to get weed", and it continues with the guy surrounded by smoke. Maybe it is just certain stations that have certain rules… Hmmmm. I am just happy that I can find a channel not playing Justin Timberlake, Amy Winehouse, or, for the billionth time, "Rock Star" (though I love the video just because Raleigh is represented…). Though, a lot of the dance videos are cool because they have PK folks, skateboarders, jumpropers, or couriers doing really cool stuff.

Also – one other note, this one happy! I've lost so much weight now, that when I went to pull off my gloves the other night, my wedding rings flew out with the gloves. So, they are currently on a chain around my neck until I can get them resized. Of course, if I keep eating minced beef pies, I will be resized and not need to worry about it. :-)

And that is about it for now…
