Sorry for the lack of updates… Still been busy moving and stuff. Plus, I managed to get sick at the most inconvenient time…
Anyway, update… We’ve finally got the house to a condition where it is suitable for habitation. Yay! Ray is going to move the bed over tonight, so we will spend the night there tonight.
The dogs already seem to like it. Which, I am not really too surprised. It’s roomier for them. The Mexican restaurant, owned by some Slavic folks, has really good fajitas. We will actually be able to get the couch through the door. We have a bigger washer and separate dryer, a bigger fridge with an attached freezer (even though not American sized, at least it’s not dorm room sized) and we have nice, new, clean, induction heat stove. We had to get Sky because Virgin hasn’t run cable in that neighbourhood yet, so, we will now get Sky 1 and 2 again. (Though I didn’t want to dump Sir Richard – he’s one of the few businesspeople in all of UK that understands how to run a business to be profitable and make their customers happy at the same time.) Anyway. Yay! It’s not such a bad place now!
It’s been very rainy and overcast the last couple of weeks. I know, it’s England, I should expect that. But it was bright and sunny all through April, with very little rain. The problem is that it’s a bit disconcerting because we gain ~20 minutes of daylight/week. So, it was getting light at 5:30 AM. Then, it’s dark and overcast every morning for 2 weeks, and the next time we see the sun come up, it’s 5:10 AM. The same way with the sunset, which at 8:45PM, but it’s not as bad for some reason. It’s just kind of odd that the longest day will start at 4:42AM and end at 21:21… And the idea that the sun will never get 18° below the horizon until the end of July… Weird. Not bad at all. Just weird. Now, if it would just warm up, just a tiny bit, it would be perfect.
Also, I’ve posted new pics up on Picasa of Dover and Minehead. That’s about it for now.
